Passing Our Faith To The Next Generation
At River Hills we are convinced the generations need each other. We believe kids and teens will become faith-filled adults by being with faith-filled adults. The Next Generation Discipleship Team seeks to help us live this out at River Hills. Our work includes:
Coordinating the delivery of Faith Training Seminars which teach the foundation for our 8th Core value: "We believe that parents are the best and primary teachers of spiritual truth to their children. We believe children become faith-filled adults by being with faith-filled adults." This seminar motivates and equips parents to bring their children up in the faith. It also helps all in the River Hills family to support parents in this work and to be active in helping the next generation among us to know and follow Jesus.
Encouraging the use of the catechism in our homes to both train our children up in the faith and to help all of us know God better by regularly rehearsing together the truths about God and the Christian life taught in the catechism.
Facilitating regular intergenerational events. We aim to create a community of men, women, teenagers, boys, and girls that love Christ, love one another, and love to serve our community together.
