Why Do We Give?

We believe all we are and have comes from and belongs to God and is to be used for his purposes. Therefore, we believe that every follower of Christ is to use his or her gifts and abilities to serve God, his people and his world in every way he calls him or her. (Rom. 12:4-8; 1 Cor. 12:4-31) In response to God’s grace toward sinners through Jesus Christ, we seek to give:

• Cheerfully – “Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” (2 Cor. 9:7).
• Sacrificially – “We want you to know, brothers, about the grace of God that has been given among the churches of Macedonia, for in a severe test of affliction, their abundance of joy and their extreme poverty have overflowed in a wealth of generosity on their part.” (2 Cor. 8:1-2).
• Hopefully – “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matt. 6:19–21).

Where Do Financial Gifts Go?

Offerings go mainly to the following funds:

• General Fund – This fund covers our church’s operational costs, like staff salaries, church events, and facility maintenance.
• Missions – We support missionaries who are laboring to proclaim the gospel and establish healthy churches among unreached peoples around the world.
• Emergency Relief – Our church elders use offerings that givers designate for the Emergency Relief Fund to assist members experiencing financial crises and to meet physical needs we encounter in our community.

How Do I Give?

We provide multiple ways for you to support the ministries here at River Hills.

• Sunday Morning – You can place gifts of cash or check (made payable to River Hills Community Church) in the offering basket during the Sunday morning worship service.
• Online – To give electronically click the “Give Now” button to the right. Please note that, unless specified, 2% (+$.30) of your ACH online gift or 3% (+ $.30) of your debit or credit card online gift will go to the company that provides this service.
